I manage a fast food restaurant. I am the only person there that has seen combat and I tell them that when they don't listen to me or do what I say it makes my PTSD start to act up and then I get the urge to.........KILL!!!!

hahhaa. A lot of people that I work with have seen combat but none of them have PTSD. They're very nice people -- until they're not nice. Then they're just, not nice, but usually, they're nice!

I don't really get the urge to kill but it keeps them guessing. The only side effect is the nightmares I get and sometimes loud noises make me jumpy. A lot of people are surprised that I was in the Navy and came out with PTSD but when I tell them why they are all "oh I see"

and good luck to ya Skipper

Seeing as I've got a friend and a cousin in the Navy, and I've heard stories, I'm not surprised at all. I just feel for you because that's not fun at all. *hugs*

I guess we get the weird people where I work. Many of them have some sickening stories when it comes to war, but I ask some of them if they were okay with it/how did it feel, and they respond with "well I felt a little recoil but but I think they felt more of it than I did." /etc. Usually smartass remarks. I personally find it fairly sickening, myself because I wasn't even allowed to watch anything with a gun in it when I was little so I was totally unprepared for the slimey remarks. But then again, I asked for it.

I'm really good with weapons but I'm only just now seeing movies that portray the effects of the weapons I'm used to firing. Until now, my idea of running a course is watching moving wooden silhouettes getting blasted to pieces or paper targets getting cut down.

... and then I saw my first war movie --- "We Were Soldiers", and I ALMOST made it to the bathroom but almost doesn't count. I ended up puking all over my best friends carpet.

I still have a lot of desensitizing to do before I turn 21. I hope I NEVER have to use the weapons of my sport for their intended purpose. I know how to do it, but I imagine I'll be sick on my stomach for the rest of my life if I ever had to use a gun for something other than putting holes in paper or bouncing plastic pellets off of my coworkers in competition.

Right well this is fun and all but no more in this thread please? This is for announcements and follow up banter.

Recreation section would be fine.

Also happier thoughts.

My interwebs is sketchy here so I'll post directly when I can and when I can't I'll post through Oliver. He's gotten me addicted to another adventure it would seem.

We used to be partners and have stayed good friends. He's a jeeb, or would that be a dwock?

Since Olli can vouch for posts coming through him and given your deployment/internet issues I've got no problem with you having inconsistent posting times. It's one of those things that can't be helped.

Since it's been some time that Wercheg last posted or showed face, I shall be removing him this coming Friday night after my shift. Of course if he appeared then all would be well. Also, how are we finding the simm? Questions? Comments?

I'm hoping that he'll spring from somewhere and I'm once more jumping the gun.

T'Lena has been moved from Chief Engineering Officer to Engineering officer. The hope is that given a less crucial role will not stall the story but allow her to keep playing given severe work engagements.

Chief Engineering Officer slot is open once more.
