Mission 2 : Frigid Frontiers OOC

Obviously this mission is a little bit slower on the pace and action than the first one. The greatest challenge is finding something for everyone to do. I'll see what I can do for you guys.

Command: For this mission I'll mostly be playing parts of NPCs for interaction on the colony. I'll also be letting Oliver take the ground-side for this one and hang back on the ship. Reneé will be generally mulling around while Oliver is checking out the progress of work on the colony, maybe interacting with a few key figures. I'm hoping that Oliver will use his new-found position to be as scary as possible.

Flight Control: Tough one. Inspecting colony craft and their ability to fly, keeping an orbit around the colony and maybe even flying one of the runabouts to use as a crane or mobile command post.

Strategic Operations: Back to Oliver again. Given the sketchy details of the surrounding area in the sector as well as the recent increase in pirate activity it wouldn't hurt to confer with the locals to get a civilian perspective to cross-reference with Starfleet Intelligence records to draw up a more accurate picture of the sector dynamics.

Security & Tactical: Richard could use his experience and the experience of his officers to properly train a civilian militia that could effectively protect themselves independently or at least until help from Starfleet arrived. Inspecting their weapon stocks and any anti-ship weapons would be a good idea.

Operations: Work on getting an effective early warning sensor system that gives a more detailed picture of ships in orbit. Would probably need to be done with Engineering given the damage any sensor and power units have sustained.

Engineering: As well as working on the massive amounts of damage that the colony's infrastructure has taken, Engineering will also be analyse the technology from the Breen debris picked up from the first mission. Since the weapon or tech is suppose to link us to the Ferengi, maybe a trader's mark or something on it would be a clue? Go wild.

Science: Assisting Engineering with their analysis of the Breen tech and hopefully uncovering the link to the Fergeni.

Medical & Counseling: Aiding the wounded from the previous attacks as well as possibly combating a spreading infection or disease. Training medics would also benefit the long term survivability of the colony, not to mention inoculations and inspection/retrofitting of medical facilities.

Diplomatic Corps: Funny thing is with the Ferengi means that anyone with the funds in their pocket is fair trade. However it seems like the colony's leaders aren't able to secure much needed supplies...could be medicine, weapons or some such. Obviously with the pirates making supply runs much harder the Ferengi and their well protected convoys are a gleaming option. Can you broker the deal Mr Wercheg?

Civilian Affairs: Enjoy a day out really, enjoy the M-class planet goodies and meet with your fellow civilians.

Just a quick question about this possible infection and what not...you have an idea for that, or I can come up with the properties should it happen?

Just to say that I sent an email to Wercheg about Monday and have heard nothing back. Since this is all the senior officers kinda here I shall commence the briefing.

I know I said in here I would make a second post, but I actually never did. I just edited the post that my computer refreshed over during the moment that there were two posts at the exact same time and edited my own post so I don't see how you could have accidentally almost lost your post unless my original post was posted at the exact same time as your post (in which case, was unavoidable whether I went back to edit mode or not). So that means that most likely, you and I posted at near the exact same time originally, just like I did with the last poster. It was a rare three-way-collision that probably is so odd that it may never happen again.

Either way, due to the fact that no new posts were made other than our our original replies, it means we were all three posting in an overlapped order within the same ten/fifteen minutes. It was an unavoidable mishap because nobody was on messenger to know that we were all hard at work, writing away in our own reply at the same time (no communication other than the forums) but it means we're pretty active!

In respects to the ground team I'll be playing the counter-parts for the relevant officers as part of my input for that side of the mission. I'll also be looking to add a little combat element for both sides.
